I was watching the clip of survey that one of the University in Thailand made it about Laos. I saw a bunch of gay thai in that clip including this fat urgly dark skin gay man up there said he's looking better than lao. But, he must be forgot to look back at himself., he's fat and pretty urgly too. How dare he let those words came out of his mouth ?

Your reseaches are not reliable sources and therefore those were not accurated, due to lack of information to support the facts. I see Laotain children graduation from high school, college and University everyday from two degree to master degree and I also see a Laotain woman became vice president at Vanderbelt Midical University in state of Tennessee and I read the new that Lao Hmong became the judge and councilmen in state of California and I also saw laotian children became other professional in other States. For Example, my two cousins one graduated from University of Goergia , he is mechamical engineer and other on graduated University of North corilina as medicine doctor. I just told you that Lao people don’t want be a crocky to show you their education and their professional. There the facts Laotian population since they were refuggee to settle in US in middle 1980, 232, 130 people and Lao Hmong 260,070 people and total 492,200 people That is 34 years ago. I have assumed that Laotian population may have grown to reach 1 million people by now. I have observed that all laotain don’t identify themselve as whole Laotain and some of them claimed themselve to be Thai people as classify, but reality is, they are Laotian that’s why they name their restaurant in Thai name and owned by Lao people in US, there are more famous than Lao name because Thai is recognize by America and Europpean people that good for their business. I give some example for lao people identify as thai people one my Lao friend married thai Essan girl and their children are recognized as thai racist. The country of Laos was absensed from internation arena more than two hundred years ago due to the wars and became colinial of Siam and French and Laotian had suffered along time to identify themselve as whole Laotain and their country just open up for to world to see just 25 years ago. Of course, old Lao people don’t have higher education and I believed that because they came to US and they have to go to work rise and support their family and myself too, but some strong Laotian family have their children reach American dream, some weakeness family will failed just like amybody else in US. You don’t show Thai people who have higher education and living standard living in the US. But when I have travelled around the US I realize that many Laotians in California, Massachusetts, in Rhodes Island and a few other states do not have higher education at all. Many of them drop out of schools while others join gangs.

Look at this study on education comparison between different asian ethnic groups. The Hmong used to be much poorer and less educated than Lao in the US. Now both the Hmongs and Cambodians are slowly surpassing Lao people.

You are wrong about the number of Laotian and Hmong in the US.

How could I wrong about that about Laotians and Lao Hmong living Over Seas? I used to work for US Census Department 1990 and 2000. Here the facts:

Lao Population Refugee from 1975 living Overseas

Laotians in US - 232,130
France - 140,000
Canada - 12,000

Lao-Hmong in US: 260,070

I agree with you about Laotians live California, Massachusetts and Rhodes Island States are very poor education for Laotians community, but others States that Laotians community are doing very well on education.

six ethnic groups of Southeast Asian Americans. Findings
show that the educational attainment of Filipinos, Viet-
namese, and Thai is higher than that of whites, while the
educational attainment of Cambodians, Hmong, and Lao-
tians is lower than that of whites. Regarding earnings,
Southeast Asian American women are generally not dis-
advantaged relative to white women, but Southeast Asian
American men tend to have lower earnings than white men
after controlling for education and other demographic
factors such as age, metropolitan residence, and region. We
conclude that Cambodians, Hmong, and Laotians are the
most disadvantaged groups among Southeast Asian
Americans and that most Southeast Asian American male
groups tend to be at least slightly disadvantaged in the
labor market at least after controlling for metropolitan

Base on those Information cover only the state of california not in whole United State and don't fool me, Laotian who are educated they don't want to show them face the whole world to know them unlike Thai people are very crocky like you want to show the whole world thai people have more quality life in US, than other nation in Southeast Asia, all of your infornmation is fake it. When you mention about Hmong, I think its a Hmong second generation, not the first refugees one... the one came from refugees camp in Thailand most of them can't even read lao or english. make sure do some research before compare them to lao first generation refugees most read and write French and English especially French.
