First, it's an Australian film in Lao language played by Lao and Thai 9 (Esan) actors.

Second, this is only the first step, meaning Australia has submitted this film to hollywood for further selection to be nominees by hollywood.

Each year, many countries (15 to 20 countries) select one film from their country for hollywood. The hollywood executive committee will then select a shortlist of 7 to 9 finalists. Only one of those will get the oscar.

So, the "rocket" is not even among the shortlist 7-9 films yet. We won't know until next February. I truly hope it is selected by the hollywood executive committee to be among the finalists.

You are really crazy to say that. You know only how to criticize but don't look at the reality.

It's a mix of Thai and Lao actors. But the most important thing is it is in LAO language and based on Laos story and filmed in Laos.

It's a low budget movie and the director cannot spend time and money to hire and train all new amateur actors. It takes time and is too costly.

They have to use some real experienced actors and most of them are Thai.

If you feel ashamed, that's your choice.
