(KPL) Last month witnessed the registration of more than 5,400 new vehicles in Vientiane Capital. The figure represents a sharp increase of vehicles in Vientiane Capital, according to Vientiane Public Works and Transport Service.
The registration of new vehicles seems to be positive for transport of Vientiane residents, but it helps worsen traffic congestion in Vientiane Capital.
The service also said that the registered vehicles include 3,521 motorbikes, 566 sedans, 749 pick-up trucks, 179 jeeps, 149 vans, 294 heavy trucks and 14 buses.
Over 11,700 vehicles have been registered in the first two months of this year in Vientiane Capital. There are 595,039 vehicles in Vientiane Capital.
Seventeen lives were reportedly claimed by road accidents taking place between March 4 and 10 across the country, according to the Traffic Police Department. One hundred and twenty seven road accidents were recorded during the period
