"I'm proud with my team's achievements and overall performance in this tournament.
“We are aware that we are not as strong as the other competitors. But I think it would be good for our young players to gain some experience.”
Kimura was a frustrated man after being forced to make a substitution following a challenge on his goalkeeper, Sengphachan Bounthisanh by Fazrul Nawaz in the opening minutes of the game.
“First ten minutes, our goalkeeper, Sengpachan was injured. He had fractured his ankle and is now in the hospital. It was very dangerous play [by Fazrul Nawaz] and maybe it should have been a red card.”
But despite ending the tournament at the bottom of the table, Kimura predicts a bright future for Laotian football: “I'm sure with this kind of performance, our team has a bright future and we can do something better in the next SEA Games.”

One of the reasons why Laos is far behind other countries in ASEAN is because the majority of Lao people just seem to be proud and happy with everything...
That's why we never catch up with the neighbors. The government always claims Lao's economy is doing well, Lao people's lives are getting better... very good and very proud of whatever the results would be...
When will we start thinking bigger? aim higher? instead of just being satified with eveything? Now it's 2012. Don't just be proud of yourselves when you are always at the bottom.. Laos people should be much much more ambitious... Otherwise we will move forward at all.
They lack abition of winning the game.. they simply did care about the outcome because at the end, everyone would say... well Lao people play very well .. better than before.. so it's already good and let us just be proud of them...
Successful teams like Malaysia play differently from Laos... you could tell that everyone was very energertic and dying to win the game...that didn't seem like Lao team at all.
If they had put just a little efforts againt Singapore, they could have won the game at least 1-2 goals.
Movtiations and dedications are what Lao team needs...
