Three young girls, Yu Xiangying, Yu Bo and Yu Han from Xishuangbanna, southwest China's Yunnan Province, claimed the top three places yesterday in a beauty contest, taken part in by candidates from six countries - China, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia.
The winner Yu Xiangying, a vocational college student, expressed her honor at participating in the contest and said she hoped to display her hometown's culture through the platform it provided.

The beauty contest, one of activities of the Lancang-Mekong Culture and Arts Festival, attracted nearly 1,000 participants, with 26 entering the final round after selection and preliminary competition.
