The main reason due to Laos is Least Develop Country the import more than export, I've never seen LDC Country have a trade surplus even USA, Developed Country, still trade deficit with China, Developing Country.
Please understand sirs, Lao GOV does not refer Lao Nork money to spend for trade deficit because too small amount they use short and long term borrow money from IMF, ADB, World Bank and some friend country. We agreed that some money send from Lao Nork to their cousins it help some portion of economic grow, but for the main budget to push country grow it depend on domestic and foreign investment, borrowing money and export goods. The total amount is more than 10,000 billions USD. Regarding to currency Laos is not depend only USD but we also use EURO, Chineses Yaun, Thai Bath and so on and of cause you have to exchange to Lao Kip if you need to spend in Laos and also in your country too you cannot use directly foreign currency. I do believe that you should understand if you graduated from Economic School if not just ask your close friend to explain.

555 you don't have to be a powerful man to look @ their GDP, all you to do is just click on their commerce department and look @ trade and Balance. Anybody can do it with the keyboard. So either you estimate total amout of investment or its reserve But the number is way way way too high. and over all Laos GDP is only 7.4 Billion of 2010..... Sorry brother I don't mean to cut you off or anything like that.......
