Which one?  If the one who fought with Siam was 200 and plus years ago.
During the war Siam and LaneXang, The United States was just fresh started
to build their country only 50 years and this country weren't the United States
of America yet.

If the one who got killed both husband and wife in Thailand, that money
Thai government no promissing to pay Laos government.

Well, THE siamese army captured and sacked Vientiane in 1827, to be Exact. after its ruler, King Anourouth had unsuccessfully attempted to march on Bangkok. and the United State declaration of Independent 1776. So during the Siam and Lanxang conflict, U.S.A, just turned 51 years old, not 50 ?? .. also, During the first Siamese invaded in 1827, they the (Siam) didn't really left their troops there instead they brought most of Vientiane Residents crossed over on the other side of the River. Until 1872, when french land and naval expeditions defeated Vietnamese troops and chinese troops mercenaries and imposed a treaty of protectorate over the court of Hue'.. In 1884, France won the right to place its residents over the mandarin administrators of Annam and tonkin and to install a resident-general in the citadel of Hue'. French military outposts were established at Lai Chau, Sonla, and Vanbu. On the other hand, Siam, fearing that the court of Hue' would invoke the proterctorate to compel the french military to reassert annam claims beyond the annamite mountains, Siam launched it ownlarge scale military expedition into Northern Laos.( this was second time that Siam invaded laos) in 1885.the pretext used by the Siamese was to protecting inhabitants from further incursions from southern china. Siamese also occupied the plain of Jars and dispatched  two of their commissaires to the Capital of Luang phabang to supervise the Kingdom's affaire. But, french sent Siam a note to Bangkok warning that Hue' claimed sovereignty over both Xieng khoung and Luang phabang. and asking the Siam to agree that a joint commission examine the boundaries of Luang phabang on the spot. and  May 7, 1886. Siam granted the france the right to post a vice consul to Luang phabang  sine the consulates function only in foreign territories. But the matter was to end badly for Siamese.. so, anyway, i hope  this is two answers you asking for!!  also, i would like apologized for not read the whloe thing, i thought you were saying America developed their economy only 50 years.. You're right man, you and neither I weren't born at the time that Siam stumped our capital Vientiane, only our historian were born at that time. You and I knew our country history by reading and teaching from school. You might be right that you said it might not be the same book but the result might be the same.

I am sorry that I said you don't know you own country history. If you read new book of LaneXang history that wrote by Laos PDR historian, you will see they changed some of our history, mostly during the conflict between King Sayachackkaphath and Vietnam, Vietnam invaded Luang Prabang and Chao Lane Khamdeng defeated Vietnam troops like that. They don't want young lao people know what Vietnam have been done to Laos? Vietnam and Siam are same F-U-C-K-I-N-G enemies of Laos LaneXang before.
