I have never seen the real Vientiane walls even I was born and grew up in vientiane. I saw a drawing map that showed Vientiane walls on history book that I read when I was 3rd grade in 1963. My teacher was told that he saw some parts of old walls, but I have no chance to see those. Vientiane walls was destroyed by Siam when they strumped Vientiane on second rounds. I would love to see it on next time I visit Vientiane.
Vientiane walls had been destroyed about two hundred years ago. We are so lucky to see some of its foundations left over. No body care about old Vientiane walls before Laos PDR.

They found these Vientiane walls over 100 years ago, no one was taking care of it. The government of Laos Kingdom didn't care about that eather,even they let the local people tear it down to use those wall's bricks for other contruction perposes. Thank's to Laos PDR government to save and protect those portions of Vientiane walls to show our new young generations to know how our great great great grand parents protected our capital in the past.
