         That is no big deal about Lao and Thai words . There are so many words in Lao and Thai language are similar not only the language but the culture and religion as well. The most important is the Lao action and the Thai action that separate the languages between Lao and Thai. the words and vocabularies are so many are the same. The most important how we use to communicate to each other just like the English language that the people in the whole world use to communicate. The knowledge brain and mind , the science and technology and economy are the most important. So that is no big deal about the Lao words and the Thai word, we use a lot of the English words in language because such as computer, internet....etc....so no big deal.

 In the future ,may be 100 years or 1000years from now every body will use only one language that is the English language. The science and technology will be so advance. So what ever is easy to understand each other and easy to communicate to each other let use it.

The ministry of culture of laos should take an urgent action to promote the correct use of Laos words and language. This because now many Lao people even the Lao media still use incorrect Lao words. Many times they mix between Lao and Thai language when they read the news or write a song. Worse than that many teen agers in Lao like to say some words loke "Ja". Lao teen ager now don't use correct lao words. This is something that the government should take some action to promote the correct use of Lao language. For example the media and the entertainment sector should be a role model. Every words or song should be passed and check by the Ministry of culture before on air.

Again for Lao people, Lao people should be proud to use Lao words. Lao words is very sweet and attractive especially vientiane accent. I'm not from Vientiane but when i hear Vientiane people talk in Lao, it looks very!!!! attractive. but now it is very surprise why teenagers in Vientiane use a lot of thai words like "Ja". Please!!!!!! don't use thai words. we are Lao and the Lao language is charming already.

One more question. The word "home" for example, why people don't say "Heuan"? Why they say "Barn"? I think the word "Barn" in Laos means a village rather than a home. so i think the word "Heuan" is best used for a meaning of  home.

The world kinhell is came from Tai lui in the north of Lao in laung Nam Tha.  As matter in facts, Thai language is original came from Lao people direct.  As you can see that in any provinces of thai when speaker out all direct in Laos because thai does't have their own language.

ກິນ (kin) = eat

ແຫ້ວ  (Haew) = water chestnuts

In Thai: Kin Haew

In Lao: Kin Mak Haew (in Lao Mak indicates fruit, i.e. Mak Muang = mango, Maak Hoong = Papaya, etc.)

The figurative meaning is: you eat something juicy, delicious, passionate.

Old Thai song: Yaam rak kun waan mun meuan dung kin haew = when in love, everything is sweet and delicious (milky) like eating water chestnuts.
