This position provides oral interpreting services to and from Hmong / Lao languages for non-English and limited English speaking patients of the University of California, Davis Health System- Demonstrated Hmong, Lao, English translating/speaking abilities required - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Familiarity with Medical Center setting - Skill to interpret/translate verbally and in writing information from second language to English, and English to second language. - Ability to interact with and relate to non-English speaking persons of any background and culture with enthusiasm, professionalism, and empathy. - Computer skills to input and maintain records. - Must have knowledge of Professional Standards for Medical Interpreters; previous professional interpreting training preferred
