I have Celiac (aka Coeliac) disease, which means I can't eat gluten. Gluten is found in wheat, barley and rye. I'm looking to create an allergy card that explains my issue in Laotian. Something along the lines of:
"Allergy ! No soy sauce No oyster sauce No wheat flour "...
Now for a few questions:
1. Does anyone have the words for oyster sauce and wheat flour? 2. Does this accurately translate my problem? Are "allergies" understood in the same way in Laos as they are in the US (as something to take seriously?) If not, is there another way that I can put it so my needs are taken seriously? 3. Are there any other staple sauces or ingredients (like mushroom sauce or hoisan sauce or a specific type of noodle?) that I should include in my list of "no"s?
