JICA to conduct feasibility study into Vientiane Logistics Park
(KPL) The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has reached a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on conducting a feasibility study into the development of Vientiane Logistics Park. The agreement was signed by Director General of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Mr Viengsavath Siphandone, Director General of the Investment Promotion Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Mr Achong Laomao, and Chief Representative of the JICA Laos Office, Mr Koichi Takei.� Witnessing the signing was Minister of Public Works and Transport, Mr Sommad Pholsena, and other invited guests. The study is expected to start next month and take one year to complete, according to JICA.� The Vientiane Logistics Park, which will be located near the Dongphosy Specific Economic Zone and Thanalaeng Railway Station in Hadxaifong District, is to deploy warehouse-oriented logistics facilities for providing comprehensive logistic services, namely multi-modality (rail and truck), domestic, international cargo, and industrial goods.� The park is expected to include a customs procedures area, heavy bulk cargo areas, general cargo warehouse areas and parking lot. A management building, office building, maintenance workshop, weight scale, and other facilities will be also included in the complex.� The project is in keeping with the government strategy on transforming Laos from a landlocked country into a �land-linked� country.

It is well written. Vientiane Logistic Park will be an economic development complex area used for parking, cargo warehouse (rails and trucks), and other storages. This is not a park for people to go have fun, like buddha park or Disney Land.
