Pardon me for using English ( my laptop doesnt have Lao keyboard).
In developed countries, it is illegal not to put price tag on the products. Whereas in Laos, people don't really care. Here are what is good and bad about it.
To the sellers: if they put the price tag, they might lose the opportunity to ask for higher prices which can be sold to some buyers who don't know or not sure about the actual value of the products. So not putting the price tag might have advantage to the sellers. But there might be some costs ( time for negotiating the price). Buyers who have good knowledge about the products will negotiate with the seller until they get the price they want ( which might take sometime before the deal is closed). Or buyers might simply walk away if they feel that the sellers try to rip them off ( which might not be good for sellers because they might lose potential buyers once they find out that what they just buy is actually worth less much than its actual value).
To buyers: if the sellers put the price tag, it is good for them because they can decide whether or not to buy the product once they see the price. Which might make the transaction faster and save time for both parties ( for example: the sellers can save times for negotiating the price to serve other customers). But if the price tag is higher than the actual value of the products, buyers might lose bagaining power as well. If they see the price is too high, they might just walk away without asking for discount or simply buy the product right away and ending up paying higher price than actual value.
To conclude, putting price tag or not has both advantage and disadvantage for buyers and sellers. it's best for buyers to find out what is the market price for a certain products so that can make an informed decision and get the best deals when they buy something in the market whether it has price tag or not.
