 Cambodia are building the the sugar refineries and will be finished soon . Also there are building the oil refinery but don't know when it will be completed. There are many factories and industries and agriculture are working on now in Cambodia such as housing and high building and new city. I know, Laos are building a lot of dams other than that are gold mine, copper mine and chopping down the tree and building hotel and casino.Most of Laos export are raw material to feed the foreign Vietnamese and Chinese industries. Laos don't manufacture too many product .Laos export some produce and rice but Cambodia also has done the same. For railroad Cambodia are almost completed .For Harbour for ship dock Cambodia have small size but capable to load the good to the ship . Well , You say Cambodia is behind or ahead of Laos that is you to decide. The roads and streets are more than Laos .Also as you see they build their first car. There are more foreign investors in Cambodia then Laos from Canada , United States and Europe. Please google to see how much rice that Cambodia produce and export to US and Europe and the garment industry as well. Don't let the number of GDP foul you because of the population of Cambodia is larger than Laos. You made the research on Laos and Cambodia then you make the decision who is ahead OK.

GDP foul you against you that the income  because Lao population only 6 million people but Cambodia is 15 million people but for development Cambodia infrastructure is more ahead of Laos.

  Yes and No. I think you need to better understand GDP (gros domestic product). There are two types: total GDP of a country and GDP per capita (or GDP per person within that country). Both are important in different ways to define a country's strength. GDP per capita indicates the standard of living for the people of a country, while total GDP indicates the economic potential of a country.

Developed countries like the United States, Japan, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, etc have high GDP in both total and per capita number. For comparison, China and India have a lower GDP per capita but nevertheless have a high total GDP because of their high population number. For instance, the United States has 315 millions people and has a GDP per capita of $48,112; its total GDP is about 15 trillions (15,000 billions). Germany has 82 millions people and a GDP per capita of $39,200; its total GDP is 3.2 trillions. For comparison, China has a GDP per capita of only $8,400; however because it has 1.3 billions people, its total GDP is 12 trillions, higher than that of Japan (4.6 trillions and $36,200 per capita), or Gerrmany (3.2 trillions and $39,000 per capita), etc. Do the Chinese people have a living standard as good as those of the Japanese or the German? Hell, NO. But, globally, who seem to have more power between China, Japan and Germany?
