Let's all wake up to reality. Laos is not a democracy and has never been. Right now to say that Laos is a feudal society is not far fetched. The political system is patrimonial with power concentrates within a few families and bears little resemblance to socialism or communism. Lao political leaders treat their geographical area of influence similar to the way village chiefs, princes and kings used to control the various villages, meaungs, and kingdoms with impunity. Rule of Law is almost non-existent. There is no channel for ordinary citizens to voice their opinions or have a say on how the country is governed because of the absence of civil society and independent media.
The ideal of the revolution that leads to the foundation of the Lao PDR has been betrayed long ago. What remain is simply nationalism. This needs to change quickly, and it can only happen within the ruling party dues to geopolitical reality. This country urgently requires governance transparency, media liberalization, civil-society participation, social and economic equalities, and rule of law. Without such improvements, Laos will continue to be no better than the patronage feudalism of its past.
I think if the benefit shares to everyone fairly democracy is not neccessary however, most people need to share every thing like natural resources, water, land and so on, so public speech is the basic of human right and I don't think that we can do in Laos
The reason why lao people are starting talking politic either educated or uneducated.
Here the reason:
1: The promise of a glorious, Yet imaginary, Future.
some have argued that like fascism, nationalism, Communism offers a vision of an unachievable perfect future.
2: An incomplete ideology, Karl Marx and Engels never dedicated much work to show how exactly a communist economy would function in Practice. leaving Socialism a negative ideology.
I can go and on more if i want it to , But afraid people in here might get sick of hearing Politics.
PASATHIPATAI is most countries in this world are dreaming to be but, it was exchanged from the life and blood before earned it.
Lao people are only dreaming for their country to be Democracy country if they are not exchanging from their lives and blood like the other countries are doing right now. Sirya is now under fighting for their PASATHIPATAI or Democracy. Could Lao people can do like those countries who fought for it?
Talking is better than zip your mouth......may be some day it turn to be the real dream came true......Just don't give up....
