As for who ****s up the country the most? the commies are the worst of the worst. Had Laos not become a communist state and controlled by its neighbors with a backward and opportunistic ideology, Laos would have been a more educated and developed country.
Look at the leaders! they were/are all former cavemen. How could one expect these old men to have an ambition and vision for turning Laos into an a truly educated society. All they want to become among the leaders before they die. And those soldiers are exploiting the forests and natural resources of Laos for their won wealth. At least in the old regimes there were truly educated engineers, doctors and professors educated from the west. Those people are truly more Tai-Lao mentality than the current ones.
