 I think a person who wrote in English have ever known Lao word of " DARA "

" DARA " is Lao and Thai word, this word is came from " DAO " or " STAR " in English.

The original Lao grammar was wrote " DARA " but, after 75's Laos PDR cut one of lao

alphabet " R " away that's why they write " DALA " instead of " DARA "  

Now Laos PDR bring " R " back to Lao alphabet again but not in place yet, most new

generations are still writing " L " all the words that suppose to write with " R "

Examples:

- ROT ( correct writing ) .. ( a car in English )

  ROT is meaning " ROT-YON " in Lao.

  LOT is meaning " LOOT LONG or NOI KUA " in lao.

- DAMRONG ( correct writing ) 

    DAMRONG is meaning " KARN SAY or GNUD- THEU " in lao

  ( KHOY DAMRONG SIVIT DUAY KARN KHAR KHAY )

  ( I LIVING WITH SELLING MERCHANDISES )

- DAMLONG is meaning " DAM NAM " in Lao or "DIVING" in English.

  ( KHOY DAMLONG NAM )

Phasa Lao today is incorrect from the original before 75's.

ดารา เป็นคำที่ยืมมาจากภาษาบาลีและสันสกฤตว่า ตารา แปลว่า ผู้กระจายแสง สิ่งที่โปรยปรายหรือดารดาษอยู่บนท้องฟ้า  ซึ่งก็คือ ดวงดาว

          ในภาษาไทย ดารา ใช้เป็นภาษาวรรณกรรม เช่น คืนนี้ฟ้าไร้จันทร์แต่ยังมีดารานับพันคอยให้แสง

          แน่นอนคำว่า ดารา ได้ถูกนำมาให้ความหมายถึง "นักแสดงละครหรือภาพยนตร์ "

          สรุปก็คือ คำว่า"ดารา"ในวรรณกรรมต่างมีใช้ทั้งในลาวและไทย

          แต่คำว่า"ดารา"ที่ถูกกำหนดให้เรียก"นักแสดง"นั้นคือ ไทย

          "ดารา" ถือเป็นคำไทยสมัยใหม่คำหนึ่ง

 You're the IDIOT one DARA is Lao word not dala b/c an idiot like you wouldn't know the difference between Lao N Thai words even if hits you in the face! On the other hand there're lazy @SSES that are too LAZY to roll their tungues to pronounce this Lao word correctly also!!!!!!

Thai & Lao translated from an English word " STAR " to " DARA "

DARA was came from Phasa Bali and means " DUANG-DAO " in Thai & Lao.

This word is not a new or modern Thai's word at all, it came about a hundred years ago. STAR or DARA is using not just a movie star, there's using with all kind of excellent talent human in sports players, singers, dancers, models and many more that they call them Star or some is higher then they call " Super Star "

I am Lao and heard this word "DARA" in Laos since I was 6, last 60 years ago.
