Vietnamese Inflation Headed for Two-Year HighThursday, March 24th, 2011 at 9:15 am UTCPosted 14 hours ago Vietnam is forecasting its highest rate of inflation in two years despite recent policy moves and growing international pressure for the government to get a grip on fast-rising prices.
The government's statistical agency said Thursday that prices in March are likely to be 13.9 percent higher than in the same month last year. The agency said the inflation rate for the three-month period beginning in January is likely to stand at 12.8 percent.
International rating agencies cited Vietnam's high inflation among other factors when they lowered the country's credit rating in December. A representative of the International Monetary Fund said last month that Vietnam needs to focus more decisively on containing inflation.
Vietnamese officials say the inflation rate is expected to slow down later this year in response to a recent devaluation of the currency and higher interest rates. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung told the National Assembly this week that government will follow “a tight and prudent monetary policy.”

I know that Laos, our belove country had fallen into the evil communist regime for the last 36 years. What do you see change within this system? Do you see any imrpovement interm of freedom, education, Industrialization, healthcare, and much more??? Please look around you and it's very shameful to see government that run the country for this long and still begging and rely on foreign aide and then put that funding to his or her pocket for a personal gain.
Do you call this a better system for government to run the country? Hello..... How many people in Laos that can really sustain themselves without any assistant from oversea people? Is there enough jobs for everyone that can work and support themselves? It's very sad when I read so many headline that young lao adult that got sell into sex slave in Thailand or somewhere else in the world. What's next??? I guess the government already run the country to the ground and sell out anything that they can for personal gain and let all general citizen die in vain. Do you call this justice? The killing must stop and it need to change for the khon Lao and by Khon Lao. Moreover, Laos will be wipe out from the face of this globe if no body do anything about it!!!
Where is Ekkarath? Paxathipatay? I guess this is not really exist among the neokeo/Lao taht is running the country to the ground. It's very sad and shameful to see the government can do this to their citizens. I guess the blind leading the blind and the dumb leading the dumb as the neokeo/Lao would want it. Before 1975 - French was an official language, then Russia, then Chinese then Vietnamese Language. It is very hard for Lao students adapted their brain to these languages. No qualified teachers, how can Lao education get the good quality. ເມືອງລາວໃນປັດຈຸບັນ. If you cant not speak Vietnamese Language you cannot get the job.
