Let me tell you some thing my friend, There is a good thing and bad thing of living in America. I lived here for the most of my life and i have to worked hard to support my family, I owned a $500 grands of property and Everything is so expensive. My Mortgage payment, PGE, Direct TV, Cellphone, Trash, Home Insurance. All inclusive each month I end up paying almost 4 grands. I wanted to lease out, but Im fraid of people who live there might not take a good care of my house. I tried to save up some money and hopefully one day I can do refinance. For the job opportunities here is not that bad, but is very depends on your education and as well as your job experienced, Seen many of people came from another country to in US to look for work, such as China, India, singapore, as well as European people.
For the Lao people the fast earning money is only Thai Restaurant, why because language is simple and easy to understand. Their food is similarly to Laos. They can be cook, waitress, and Busboys. They earned not bad, some people can sent atleast $500 or more back to their family in laos. Funny part is they didnt even want to go back, they just married to another male or female and got themself a green card and stay here for permamently.

I think if you can learn how to adapter to American culture and you should be ok, for all of the new comer. The most importance things, you should know how to speak english and drive. In America they drive on the same side as laos. You will be ok.
America is a free society, there will alway be an argument and debates on things. But reasonable debated... the U.S. government can't and will never shut the American people.

Your skills from Laos aren't meant nothing in the U.S.A. Many Lao Doctor, nurse, electircian, aircraft mechanic, auto mechanic and many other skills who came to U.S.A. couldn't get the job what they were in Laos. My 2 cousins, one's 8 years doctor and other's 15 years auto mechanic came and stay with me in the U.S. to find the job. First, them both want to work with their skills, no any hospital or clinic had accepted or offer job for my cousin the one be a doctor. the one is 15 years auto mechanic experience can't get a job at auto repair either. Finaly them both was ended up with working in food factory for a while before they headed beck to Laos. They got lucky stayed free with me and they had some 20-30 grants dollars went back along with them to Laos.
