We (you & me) may not get anything directly from it, but it will be the great opportunity for investors. For example, EDL wants to build a huge dam in Laos which will cost $8 billion, but Lao government has only $5 billion, so we need another $3 billion – Where to get this money? Well, there might be some private companies or individuals who have money out there that want to invest their money on the project; then these people will buy the share and become ‘shareholders’ of EDL and then EDL will divide the profit that company made (selling power) to these shareholders calls ‘dividends ’ payment – in whatever rate of benefit company gained.
Therefore, this method of collecting money to invest in business EDL does not have to borrow money from the banks and as the result; our country will not have too much debt. And when we do not have hight debt, then.... You know what I mean?
