To this date Luang Prabang people are still pooping into the water like they like to call " Thai Muong Luang Khee Sai Nam Thand Arb Thang Keen " I visited Luang Prabang last summer ( Rainy season in Laos ). My friend took me for traveling from Sieng Thaong ( Park Khane ) up to Hat Hiene village by his speed boat. Both side of Nam Khane river are so beautiful and bloomed up with new homes and business of Luang Prabang People,it looks so different from last 35 year ago. Everything look nice and needed but human poops( Khee in lao ) are floating all over the surface of Nam Khane river. How long they will have modern sewer systems like developed country? They are still pooping into the Nam Khane river same as last 100 and 100 years ago. That's " Muong Moradok Lok " ? Do something Mr. or Mrs. Luang Prabang Governor.

The real is Luang Prabang's drinking water is coming from mountain Phuing " Phou Phuing in lao" They are not drinking water from the Mekong river or Nam Khane river either. I don't think non of any city or town in Laos has a good and clean water to use like Luang Prabang. The most cities in Laos are using and drinking water from the Mekong river.

If you are real Khon Luang Prabang and live in the city of Luang Parabang you should know and see how Thai Muong Luang are doing every early morning before sun rise, mostly during the rain season and water is full both the Mekong and nam Khane rivers. On the Mekong side all poop is quickly disappear because of dark color of water and rappid currant of water. On Nam Khane side water is clear and very slow currant of water that's why all poops are still floting around and take time to disappear.
In dry season, you will find dry poops are all over the place even a side of the road on along side of the Mekonh and Nam khane rivers.

I am Thai Muong Luang too, and used live in Ban Wath Nong then moved to Vientiane until fallen of Royaume du laos and now I am here in the U.S.

I am Thai Muong Luang too, and used live in Ban Wath Nong then moved to Vientiane until fallen of Royaume du laos and now I am here in the U.S.
Even I am in oversea it doesn't mean I am not Laotian. I do still love and care about my motherland not less than you do. Luang Prabang is my birth place and I spended my childhood since I was born until my family moved out to Vientiane. In 1991, 11 years after I was in the U.S., was my first visiting Laos after I left. I came home to visit every the other yaers and my last visiting was last summer. Don't worry I am not going to show the bad parts of my motherland to world. Only I want to send my attention to Luang Prabang Governor to find the way to stop his population poop into the river. The city needs modern sewer systems like the other developed countries in the world.
