Beijing (APS )- Millions of people face drinking water shortages in Southwestern China of a once-a century drought that has dried up rivers and vast farmland, state media reported Wednesday. The drought has gripped huge areas of Guizhou, Yunan, and Sichuan provinces, the Guangxi region, and the mage-city of Chonqing for months, with rainfall 60% below normal since September, the Global times said. Guishu province has been particularly hard-hit, with 86 out of its 88 cities within the drought zone and more than 17 million people shorted of drinking water, the report said. The Government announced last week that it has initiated hundred of cloud-seeding operations in the region in the recent months, using rocket fired into the sky or chemicals drop from aircraft in a bid to induce rainfall. However, Xinhau news agency last week quoted officials saying the efforts has so far been largely unsuccessful due to a lack of moisture in the skies.
Meteorologists have predicted the situation could worsen in coming months as hot and dry weather was expected to continue and water demand rises as farmers turn soon to their spring planting.

Yes, i totally agree with you 100% about what you just said. But, what if Obama's administration piss them off. Do you think they still gonna buy our debt? Sine Obama took the White house, His administration pissed the China off a few time already. Did you take a note that last Summer in European Submit? Chinese make Obama waited for him at the meeting.Until Obama called out, Are you ready for me ? and another thing, U.S.A. force them to devalue their yuan.. But, China say no... this one of the reason why chinese has so much surplus with the U.S. not the Europeans countries..
