I saw most top rank of govarnment staffs are woned nice and brand name autos in Laos. I don't talk about the people whos has to sale their grandparents heritages for that. My friend who is " NAI PHASY" and paid cash ( $34,000.00 USD ) in front of me for his Land Cruiser last summer when I visited him last summer in Laos. He doen't have any MOON MORADOCK to sale, only earned money from his job.
I'm not that impress if all these cars have been drive by the corrupted officials nor their kids. i only impress with the family that work hard and know the value of the money....who care if the car cost million buck...
This is not different from the parents of students have to pay money for their kits to attend 3 top government universities in Laos. After graduated from inside Laos or from oversea, this is another step to pay money for getting a job.
I never pay to bad cop in Laos. They tried to get money from me so many way, any time in that situation I showed them my uncle name and his phone number to them and told them to go get money from him. After they saw his name and phone number they just let me free.

Very funny Lao peopl, when the country is poor you guys are trying to compare to Cambodia, to Thailand, when people getting richer-they have more cars on the roads you think they made money from the wrong ways...Why/ Why? Why?.....
One thing you guys should know is that 2009 Laos is the second country after China that achived the eco growth in Asia....
I don't say that there is 0% of coruption in Laos, I am sure there are some...but in my opinion we should see more positive as we all want that our country is going ahead... not being jealouse!!!!
