Laos used to be a resource-rich country and if Laos had used all those resource to develop the county, we would have had to rely so much on foreign aids. The problem is bad governance.
Why some resource-rich countries in Africa are still poor? same things as what happen in Laos..
We don't know where the money comes and disappears.
Lao GDP growth is 6-8% over the last few years... this is result of foreign investment in mining and hydropower sectors.. it doesn't come from the productivity of Lao people and the income goes to the pockets of foreigners.
In the next 20-30 years... the GDP growth will decline or even become negative when the resources are all exploited and nothing left for Laos to move forward with empty land and empty hand.. and again we will continue to beg for foreign aids ...
Agree....I strongly support death penalty for these bastards. I am talking about the corrupted people. those who are not corrupted, should never feel insulted.
